Rayonier (former Polson Logging) #70, a 1922 Baldwin 2-8-2 steam locomotive, and Weyerhauser Timber #6, a 1928 2-6-6-2 articulated locomotive (also built by Baldwin) doublehead an excursion passenger train. This is at the Puget Sound Railroad Museum in Snoqualmie Washington (now the Northwest Railroad Museum) #70 is still in operation at the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railway #6 last ran in 1974 and is currently stored at the Kimball Creek Yard in downtown Snoqualmie awaiting a restoration that may or may not happen.

A blue sky day in July 2025. The trail was a bit iffy above the White River over a narrow trail of ashy scree. It was good to be hiking with hiking polls and to have a friend along.
Emmons Glacier, the largest glacier by area in the contiguous United States. Taken from Emmons Moraine, a hiking area accessed via a short spur trail from the main Glacier Basin Trail which takes off from the White River Campground at Mount Rainier NP.
