A Mazothairos enormis, a Carboniferous insect with four large wings and two small winglets. It had a 56 centimeter wingspan and probably ate plant sap.

The Carboniferous period was a wonderland of giant arthropods, from griffinflies to cat-sized scorpions to human-sized millipedes.
