I once started a manuscript w/ a loose premise, a vague idea of the villain, & a competitive nature that would not let me fail to get 50k words in a month. I got there, with multiple versions of a few scenes, but I hit 50k 😅

The Overworld from the Sigils books by Rebecca E. Reyes. This is not canon! It's a concept. The core of the world is an old god corpse encrusted with their fossilized flesh. Then a molten core surrounds the old god, with it's own outer rim. The mantle is much like Earth's, except it's upper crust is infused with old god blood, otherwise known as mana in the books. Then there's a secondary mantle that's less magic powered. Humans and most life live on its crust. Within pockets that go as deep as the outer core are mana veins, some reaching towards the surface of the world. This is not at all shown in my books yet and is not canonical until I say it is.
...be found in nature too, like oil deposits. This is also dangerous, as we see in Sigils of Blight.
Now, what is it and how did it form? I'll get back to you on that. I had an idea a while back, but I'm not sure I'm sticking to it. #Pantser
