π Australian king parrot (Alisterus scapularis) The Australian king parrot is a vibrant, medium-sized parrot endemic to eastern Australia. Males are striking with a red head, breast, and lower undersides, contrasting with green wings and back, and a blue rump. Females have a green head and breast, with a red belly. They inhabit humid, forested upland regions, including eucalyptus woodlands and rainforest edges, ranging from Queensland to Victoria. They are often seen in pairs or small groups, feeding on fruits and seeds from trees or the ground.
