Volunteers Needed: Emotional Experiences of Wildland Firefighters in British Columbia. This research invites BC wildland firefighters to share how they experience and navigate emotions in a position affected by climate change and a unique occupational culture. Eligibility: •Current or recently retired BCWS Initial Attack firefighter (must have worked during the 2024 or 2025 wildfire season) •18 years of age or older Study requirements: 1:1 virtual or telephone interview (45–90 minutes) about work experience and well-being. This study intentionally welcomes participation from equity-deserving groups to better reflect the diversity of experiences within wildland firefighting and to ensure that findings are inclusive and responsive to systemic inequities.
