Pasadena City Hall is almost silhouetted against a very dark brown/black background of wildfire smoke originating in the very nearby San Gabriel mountains in California. City Hall has a dome roof behind a more typical rectangular structure to house city offices. There are traffic lights in the nearby intersection. Two are red (which adds to the ominous look), while one is green. Pedestrians are waiting to cross the intersection, and cars are parked on the street. There is one very tall palm tree between City Hall and all the smoke. The upper left corner has less smoke and appears brighter and is pale yellow in color.

A forest fire is raging in the mountains located on the other side of Pasadena City Hall. The smoke was so dramatic and ominous.

Pasadena City Hall with its magnificent architecture is up-lit, emphasizing its design. The sky is dark blue and a full moon shines above. A street lamp is in the foreground, also lit. The massive circular structure of the City Hall rises perpendicularly for six stories. The fifth story is 41 feet high and pierced with four huge round arches and four smaller ones. The next story, set back a little, is 30 feet high and is also pierced with arches. Above it rises the dome 26 feet high and 54 feet across. On top of the dome is the lantern, a column-supported cupola 41 feet high, surmounted by an urn and ball. The highest point is 206 feet above the ground. City Hall was designed by John Bakewell & Arthur Brown who were influenced by the early Renaissance style of 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Construction was completed on December 27, 1927.

Looking down a long trough of small bubbler fountains with a colorful tile backsplash to the elegant domed City Hall of Pasadena, California. The trough leads your eyes to City Hall which has a domed red tile roof, a large arch above the rotunda that you can see the sky through. There are arches in the rotunda , the cupola, and there are arches at the base of the City Hall that are obscured by landscaping. The sky is streaky white clouds.
