Here is my portrait of the legendary Paul Morphy. It’s a digital drawing, which I worked on quite a while! (No AI.) Inspiration came after studying some of Morphy’s beautiful games and reading about his life. The position is from a game he played in New York in 1857, against Napoleon Marache. Morphy had the black pieces, and just played the knock-out move 19. … Ng3! From here, white is completely lost. The game went on 20. Qxg6 Ne2#, and it was all over.
