🎵Dashing through the snow…🎵 around #Paulsgrove and #Fratton, which is where you’ll find Santa tomorrow Friday 5th on route 18!
A scan of a 1970s colour photo. The colours are a little washed out and there are indications of light leaks in the camera body affecting the final photo, particularly along the top edge and top right. The image is taken outside a brick house on a sunny day, at its rear on the corner. As the house sits at the end of a small road it has grass to the right forming an extended garden barrier before the pavement to the right out of sight and in the background behind the side of the house. There are other terraced houses across the road to the rear and the back of a silver car can be seen. Standing to pose for the photo are two adults either side of two children, everyone holding hands. The woman on the left has dark hair and a dress that comes to mid-thighs, in dark blue material for the main and down the full sleeves but patterned with thin yellow and white bands across the torso area. The man on the right also has dark hair and wears dark, slightly flared trousers with a white shirt with sleeves rolled up a little. Both adults have cigarettes in their hands. Between them is a girl and a boy, both young but the girl is slightly taller and older. She has blue trousers and a red and purple top. The boy has a yellow jumper, blue shorts, long white socks, and blue sandals. The children are smiling while the parents look a little resigned.
For #ThrowbackThursday here's the early 1970s in the Paulsgrove area of Portsmouth where my grandparents lived. That's my mum and dad plus me and my older cousin Claire. Fabulous fashions, and note the cigarettes in hands, a requirement of family photos of that […]

Paulsgrove is the gateway to our city, with Portsdown Hill providing recreational space and magnificent views over the Solent, but on the ground child poverty is a major issue for #Paulsgrove. Recent regeneration helped to drive down deprivation statistics, but still there's an East-West divide.
I’m Georgina Ayling, a long-standing #Portsmouth resident, committed public servant, and caring hands-on grandmother, with a strong sense of community. I have expertise and experience in public finance, modernising services, establishing housing associations, and collaborative working.

With the upcoming by-election on October 23rd, it’s essential that Paulsgrove residents elect a councillor who will devote 100% of their time and energy to ensure that Paulsgrove’s needs come above national politics.
