Maianthemum dilatatum, snakeroot. A big colony of the plant forming an edge-to-edge texture. Each plant has one or several heart-shaped leaves, brilliant green, and some have budding flower stems.

Maianthemum racemosum, False Solomon's Seal, in bud. The bud is like a cluster of small green-yellow nodules, it's at the end of a single stem, and down the rest of the stem are the lanceolate leaves. Blurry dark BG.

Paxistima myrsinites, Oregon Boxwood. Tiny deep red flowers about 2 mm across clustered in bunches growing directly from the twig, leathery green leaves much bigger. Blurry green BG.

Rubus spectabilis, Salmonberry. Facing us, a spent flower showing the beginnings of the salmonberry, like a pale green raspberry, but still holding onto the ring of stamens. Just behind it and off to the side, a newly opened flower, brilliantly magenta, with thickly clustered yellow stamens. Behind both, a leaf with three leaflets. All attached to a twig. Blurry green BG.
