Evening scene during wintertime in a bustling area of a large city during happy hour, facing a street intersection with many pedestrians crossing; it is very cold, so all of the people are dressed in heavy coats; this iconic area is a hub of activity for the City and is popular with tourists as it is convenient to transit systems and offers an eclectic mix of activities; surrounding the street intersection, many buildings of all shapes and sizes serve everything from residential apartments to offices, one dollar pizzerias to barber shops; all of the storefronts are very brightly lit, so even though the sun has set and the sky is dark, this area is as bright as day; that is what they mean by "the city that never sleeps" - it really never does, although all of its people do.

Twilight, street-level scene at dusk on a winter evening in a large city, facing a street intersection surrounded by buildings of all shapes and sizes; most of the buildings in this area are of mixed-use, with the bottom floor level used as commercial space and all of the upper floors as residential; covering one corner of the intersection is covered in orange construction barricades because real estate developers are continuously tearing down this historic neighborhood to erect expensive high-rise condominium buildings for the wealthy; at the opposite corner, however, stands an old, 6-story brick building (typical for this neighborhood) with a historic diner at the ground floor, which has been closed for some time; despite the building being (I think) empty, and has numerous graffiti tags and throws on it, the owner is clearly refusing to sell out; a very large, bubble-style throwie on the wall of that building that reads "Looter" - perhaps in reference to the greedy real estate developers looting all of the property in this historic area; the sky is clear as the neighborhood skyline turns on its lights to end a beautiful, sunny winter day; several pedestrian commuters (and some in taxi cabs) are beating the rush hour traffic.
