A trace fossil of a trilobite. It's about the size of my little fingernail

I went fossil hunting down Abereiddi today. As it's #fossilfriday here's the finds- plenty of tuning fork graptolites (didymograptus) which Abereiddi is famous for. And my first trilobite!! It may only be half of one and it may be just the trace but it's definitely made my day!

A beautifully folded piece of rock sticking out of the sand on the beach. With barnacles, seaweed,and little rock pools. All in bright sunshine.

More rock sticking out of the beach! With layers tilted around 30° (at an eyeball measure) covered in barnacles and lichen with a high tide mask around a 3rd of the way up.

A spontaneous trip to Tenby (a cardinal sin amongst locals in the summer - always far too busy) but an opportunity to look at more South Pembrokeshire rocks! Part of the Bishopton Mudstone Formation formed during the carboniferous period. This county's a geologist's heaven
