The first train to roll down the Pennsylvania Railroad's tracks was on Sept. 1, 1849. The next year the firm hired Thomas Alexander Scott as the depot manager for Ducansville, PA. After consolidating control of railroads on the New Jersey side, the #PennsylvaniaRailroad greatly improved both freight & passenger access to NYC by building two single-track rail tunnels under the Hudson. Completed in 1910, they are still in use by Amtrak & NJ Transit today.

#1980s #PennsylvaniaRailroad #Trains PRR K4 1361 at Tyrone Pennsylvania in 1988, In 1985 after sitting at Horseshoe Curve on static display 1361 was pulled from it's display site into restoration and by 1987 the K4 was pulling excursions across the Keystone state

#1950s #NewJersey #PennsylvaniaRailroad PRR 1361 non other and GG1 4881 at South Amboy NJ in 1954, 1361 was built at Juniata May 1918 and was used on prestigious trains such as The Broadway Limited until diesels took over after WWII eventually being put on display at Horseshoe Curve in 1957

In my free time recently i got curious and tried a triple header K4 pull of 35 loaded hoppers from altoona to Johnstown in #Trainsimulatorclassic it was a ruff run and required helpers but it was successful in the end.
