This is a very little house on a corner in New Orleans’ lower 9th ward. The front facing gabled porch overhang has a bottom scalloped edge and is painted mint green, with light pink grooves. The trim under the roof is also light pink, as are the siding and main panel of the front door. The door and window trim, filigree porch supports, and stair rail are a darker pink, while the bead board porch ceiling is mint green. The body of the slightly left of center front door is also mint green. The door has a 6 pain light in the upper third portion. The window to the right of center is stained glass with very hard to see peacock motif. This house is on a raised block foundation, with two steps leading up to the front porch. To the right, a fence, a shrub, and the side of another house are visible, while to the left is the street snd the building across it, with various vendor trailers parked along both sides of the street. It’s snowing, and the sky is a uniform light grey, with bare tree branches in silhouette behind the house and on down the street. The snow is beginning to accumulate on the ground.
My dear friend in New Orleans sent me this pic of my favorite house there (that I would move into in a heartbeat, despite the hole in the roof and very tiny size) this morning. #worsttimeline #neworleans #pinkhouse #oldhousesky
