#PioneerDay, my tip: The Powwow in central Salt Lake is something you should experience at least once in a lifetime. After the hours-long parade, first Nations still in ceremonial dress, head to Liberty Park for a HUGE party w/ Frybread, pie & beer. I don't know of any other US city that does this.

Always will remember a guy saying to a crowd as we were leaving fireworks at Liberty Park that 24th of July is the "Mormon Mardi Gras". 30 years later & still find it funny this seems to be a bigger party than 4th of July.
