#PlantMoreNatives When I bought pink flame azalea 15+ years ago, it was labeled "pinxter azalea (Rhododendron canescens)", but it bloomed 3 weeks later than the pinxters. It's a flame azalea (R. austrinum) the "tell" is fine hairs on new growth & some yellow on the upper petal. Mystery solved!
