Fun facts about the Dayannats 1. They're incredibly old and not native to the milky way estimates put them at 12 billion year old as a species 2. Their life cycle is more akin to coral or jelly fish than any other organism 3. They don't need to eat or sleep as long as they have access to a sunny patch of dirt they can photosynthesize. 4. They have a genetic memory letting them remember the lives of their ancestors. 5. Their bodily fluids are packed with stem cells and can trigger healing in other creatures.

Because each mind they add to the collective changes the collective the synthics must be careful who and what they add to themselves, so the disguise themselves as members of that species, their allies and especially their enemies to observe how they treat others. These robots make the alliance very nervous, the synthics won't communicate with other species while they're in the observation.
