I feel like this is a dumb question but…I am spinning singles clockwise and plying counter-clockwise. When plying, I am winding yarn around the shaft a few times before the half-hitch, counter-clockwise.

Should I also wind the cop counter-clockwise?

What a mess! I was plying from a center pull ball when it fell apart into TWO center pull balls, each with one single leading to the Turkish spindle, and the other single leading to the OTHER BALL!

I splurged on a new lazy kate, manufactured by Henkys, the makers of my trusty #spinning wheel. It’s basically a foldable frame. It smells wonderfully of wood and the linseed oil (I think that’s what it is) that it has been treated with. I’m #plying my mystery combed top. 🧶

I plied four singles off of my support spindles onto two bobbins using my wheel. I had no plan when I spun so I didn’t divide the fiber equally across the spindles. This was all I had left after #plying. Victory!
