I used to fold modular origami balls called Kusudamas, which look like polyhedrons with floral/star patterns. 10 years ago I took a pic of 5 of them lined up on my computer desk. There's a small metal screw in the foreground and a Dell monitor in the back. Left to Right, the balls were designed by M. Sinayskaya, SB Mamino, Aldo Marcell, M Sinayskaya, & E. Lukasheva. I flipped the kusudama photo backward and edited the Google balls meme to overlap it, showing how the objects line up similarly.
My phone showed me a photo memory from 10 years ago and I was struck by how much it looked like a certain image I wasn't even aware of back then... See the alt text for links to diagrams to make your own! #googleballs #photoedit #kusudama #origami #polyhedra #modularorigami
