I tried to judge #PortraitofJennie by the standards of 1948, but for all its talk of eternal love & devotion, all I saw was a tale so divorced from any real-world circumstances that I just couldn't relate. Plus, the "born sexy yesterday" stuff, and the woman who wants nothing, is unavoidably creepy.
