I often receive cringeworthy mail from people who cosplay journal editors. This one is for a dubious "Scholarly Special Edition" on "Birds" in the so-called Journal of Veterinary Medicine & Research.
It seems irrelevant to them that I have no expertise in vet medicine or birds. #predatorypublisher
2 similar announces "call for paper", same image, logo, etc on Bluesky by user "Dr Papiy..." - profile picture blurred, handle deleted - above: "journal or rare cardiovascular diseases (JRCD) - below: "journal of cular dise carcinogenesis"

Hi, everyone, I want to ask for some input. I came across a publisher in the United States, ConnectSix Scholar Publishing INC (journal.cscholar.com), specifically targets authors from China. I suspect it may be a #PredatoryPublisher. But I am not familiar to this matter.

I only post #PrePrints of submitted #manuscripts. Sometimes even stated on the preprint or is out from the journal itself - yet for some reason, #PredatoryPublisher still thinks it's an invitation to try to get me to their grift.
Good to see that many researchers in my field also consider this a totally wrong move to spotlight #predatoryPublisher. Still puzzled that others in my bubble consider MDPI acceptable. Ignorance? Lack of awareness? Denial? External forces?
