Have to admit a bit of hope seeing #PresidentConnolly inaugurated earlier. I've been pretty fucked off with Ireland lately, partly through my mental health, which in-turn has stemmed from the way the country feels to have gone uber-Thatcherist over the past 18 months or so.
President Connolly in the presidential chair on the stage in Saint Patrick's Hall in Dublin Castle, surrounded by other dignitaries. The group includes the Taoiseach Micheál Martin, firmer Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, and Connolly's three living predecessors: Mary Robinson, Mary McAleese, and Michael D Higgins.
