🧠 3. Narrative Shifts Through Cultural Flooding
Culture precedes policy.
Stonewall didn’t start Pride—it started a story. Artists, musicians, and street queens carried it. Pride didn’t win rights—visibility did. #PrideWasAProtest #DisruptTheStory
Pride began as a protest, and it still is. 🏳️🌈
June may be ending, but the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights continues year-round.
Vote with Pride. Organize with Pride. Live with Pride.

Today is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.
Led by trans women of color, it lit the path for queer liberation. That fight continues. Nearly 600 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills have been introduced in 2025 alone.

The protests fell on Boston Pride on the day of the No Kings rally, so they combined them. "No Kings, but Yaass Queens" march it was called. My favorite signs.

Happy Pride month!
I'm skipping around with glee as I see a bunch of gammon get triggered by rainbows today.

Queer people have, and always will, exist.

2/ What was Stonewall?
The Stonewall Inn was a gay bar in NYC, one of the few places LGBTQ+ people could gather. But police regularly raided bars like this—arresting, harassing, and beating patrons just for existing. On June 28, 1969, they fought back.
