Princess Anne Honoured on First UK Coin Celebrating 75th Birthday A new £5 coin has been released to mark the 75th birthday of Princess Anne, the first time the Princess Royal has been honoured on official UK currency. Issued by The Royal Mint, the coin celebrates her decades of public service and her role as one of the hardest working royals. The design, approved by the Princess herself, is based on a portrait by photographer John Swannell and features her official coat of arms and the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara – a historic piece originally gifted by George VI. Artist Thomas Docherty says the design reflects Anne’s “understated elegance and strength.” The coin is available in several editions, ranging from £17.50 to over £4,000, and goes on sale from 18 July.
