86Box in full screen, showing a diagonal pattern in CGA graphics, 320 by 200 pixels, 4 colors, 2 palettes to choose from. The pattern this time goes: black, cyan, magenta, white. It spans from the upper right to the lower left corner of the screen. A mistake was made at the first try by assuming the 4 colors occupy a word (2 bytes), when in reality, the 4 colors fit in a byte (one color per nibble). Due to photographic artifacts, the cyan color is not visible at the edges of the screen.

Take 2 on the CGA shenanigans.

I messed up by using words instead of bytes. 😂

Part of a window, which is 86Box, a PC emulator, emulating a Compaq DeskPro 386. Inside the emulated screen, Compaq DOS 3.31, showing the result of running a "Hello World" program, written in x86 assembly, and assembled and linked with Open Watcom 2.0, tiny memory model (size of code + data at most 64 KiB). Missing from the first try was a colon labeling the message, within the data portion of the program. Also unnecessary is the data segment setting (only used for small memory model and beyond).

I rechecked my code, and saw I missed a colon. (Using TASM notation.)
