Fiery #prominences graced the #sun’s west limb over the past day, as vast arcs of plasma rose and twisted above the solar horizon. The prominences are a sign this week's super-active #sunspot regions (10 X flares!) are rotating out of view.

Two solar #prominences graced the #sun’s edges over the past day. The 1st erupted as a lifting filament from the sun’s southeast limb late yesterday). A 2nd prominence burst above the sun’s north pole this morning. Read more at: buff.ly/TusXyVX

These #prominences erupted in near-perfect synchrony from the sun's northeast and northwest horizons last night. Meanwhile, prolific #sunspot region AR4246 was blasting out a volley of #flares. Some have sent sun-stuff toward Earth, with expected arrivals in the next days:
