Bumped into the Secretary of State for Health so had a quick chat to thank him after he agreed to take forward my bill to protect the title of nurse in law. Grateful for the support and proud to stand up for our NHS and the nursing profession #ProtectNurse
Overjoyed that the Government has adopted my Bill on International Nurses Day and will now protect the title of Nurse. This change will keep patients safer and shows the difference a Labour Government can make #ProtectNurse

Today, @dawnbutlerbrent.bsky.social introduced a Ten Minute Rule Bill in Parliament that sets out to legally protect the title "nurse".
The proposal states only those registered with @newsnmc.bsky.social as a registered nurse can use the title “nurse”.
