And maybe drop by McBrides Bakery, sign the Smith Recall petition and buy some of their terrific baked goods. Show them support for not being intimidated by the lunatic fringe.

This makes perfect sense. Join us at the rallies. Put Canadian flag stickers on the back window of your car. Fly the Canadian Flag at home. Support canvassers on their rounds.

Photo of some of the 20 people that came out to rally against Danielle Smith and call for the recall of our two MLAs in Medicine hat. We're on the snow covered verge beside the sidewalk in front of Justin Wright's constituency office. Huge red letters spelling out "RECALL" is planted in the snow. One sign propped against a tree reads "Public Money is for Public Schools. Another reads "Un Compassionate Party" a play on the United Conservative Party. It also has a picture of Danelle Smith. Another reads "Put out the fire, Say No to Danielle Smith" referencing the recall paper work that has been approved and is awaiting publication. Another sign reads "Hate Has No Home Here" and there is also a "Protect Our Water" sign referencing the fact the UCP is allowing coal strip mining on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains which is endangering our watershed. The insisted that the permits would not allow this, but it was a lie.

Photo of more people holding signs and bundled up for the cold. Signs read "Kill Bill 14" which is the UCP trying to halt the recall and citizens initiative petitions. Other sign read "Trans Rights are Human Rights"; "Pink Slip. You have violated your terms of employment by undermining our democracy, ignoring the will of Albertans"; WE ARE NOT withSTANDING with the UCP! RECALL THEM"; "Keep Our Healthcare Public" and the last sign simply reads "RECALL"

It was -15C(+5F) -22C (-8F) with windchill today, as we rallied to show the UCP that enough is enough. @katfromthehat.bsky.social was there and I believe @ofmanyfandoms.bsky.social. A few chilled toes and fingers, but no frostbite.🧊🧊

Photo of protesters holding signs and pride flags. it was minus nineteen degrees Celsius, which is minus two degrees Fahrenheit. People were bundled up in parkas and winter clothing. The first sign with a red background and white lettering reads "We Are Not withStanding with the UCP! Recall Them" the "with" in withStanding is crossed out. This is reference to the UCP using the Notwithstanding clause in our constitution ordering Teachers back to work and forcing them into a contract that they didn't accept. It also stops the Teachers Union from challenging the order in a court of law. However we have recall legislation in Alberta, so petition applications to have the MLAs, that voted for the Notwithstanding clause, be recalled. With enough signatures the MLAs lose their seat in the Legislature and an election would need to be held in their ridings. They also used the clause to enact bills that are anti LGBTQIA+.

Close to thirty of us gathered in front of our UCP MLAs office today in the -19C(-2F) temps to show our displeasure with Danielle Smith's policies. There were about sixteen when I took this photo. More arrived later.

#ABwtfNext. This is totally unacceptable. I quote: "Though initially billed as consultations, the premier told the most recent town hall in Grande Prairie that the province would likely take
action on some topics without a vote."

Photo of the people who attended the rainy day rally today. Rain coats and umbrellas were the order of the day. They're standing on green grass beside of the sidewalk on thirteenth Ave. My camera angle is from the north east. Air quality was running from a 3 to 5 on the index, so still OK. After the rally it spiked to 10+, not healthy for anyone. We've switched our focus to the pending separation referendum question, but are still highlighting UCP bad policy in general. So in this photo people are waving Canadian flags on hockey sticks and poles. There were signs saying: Forever Canadian; Everyone is welcome in my Alberta; a Banner saying: No to Separation Canadian Forever; another sign: Alberta is Not For Sale.

In reference to asking for Danielle Smith's resignation, due to potential conflict of interest in having her husband attend and give recommendations during legislative policy meetings.

16 people braved the rain and smoke to attend our rally today. One driver seemed to feel there won't be any money left in the CPP when his children retire, if left to the Feds. Where DO they get this stuff?😄

A photo of the thirty one people at the protest today. One of the dogs is lying in the shade of a tree to the right of the person waving the flag. We had more Flags flown today. One with the Canadian Flags mounted above the Alberta flag, the way it should be. People wore red and Canadian themed shirts. The signs were mostly repeats from previous protests. You can go through Alt Text from some of my postings to get an idea what they all said. I will cover some of the new ones in the following pictures. In this photo, a couple of people out walking stopped by and thanked us for showing support for Canada.

This photo highlights a new poster with a yellow background and reads: The Indigenous People Have Spoken Alberta Is Not For Sale. The lettering is in black and red and shows a map of Alberta with colour coded treaty eight in green; Treaty six in light brown; Treaty seven in blue. The treaty areas encompass the whole map. Medicine Hat is in Treaty seven territory. This means even if a referendum were to pass Alberta could not separate without the Indigenous people agreeing and they won't. Another new sign held by a lady wearing a red shirt reads: Always Canadian United Provinces United Canada. The sign has a white background with three maple leaves interlaced; one large white coloured one with a red one on either side. It also has a map of Canada coloured in red, with a white maple leaf covering the western provinces and territories. Another sign says; Back to School Supplies and listing: Lunch Box; Back Pack; Measles Immunization with a check off boxes beside them. There is also a No Coal Mines sign being held by a gentleman.

Photo taken from the North East along 13th avenue which fronts Justin Wright’s office. The signs read from right to left: (my wife holding our signs) Will that be Visa, or Mastercard? As the UCPees on Healthcare; 1966 Free Health Care was created, 2025 See it Destroyed; then other people with signs saying: Say No to Coal, Call Your MLA; Stop Coal Mining! #WaterMatters; Public Inquiry Now!; Everyone Is Welcome In My Alberta; and Never 51. Of course, we had one drive by yell out “Support Trump” and a few thumbs down, but the majority had thumbs up with positive honks. The weather and Indigenous events kept some of our regulars away today.

Photo of a protest sign, which says on a white background: “Will That be Visa or Mastercard as the UCPees On Healthcare” Visa and Mastercard are represented by the associated coloured logos with the words “Alberta Personal Health Card” printed on them in black. All the other sign wording is in black except: UCP in the word UCPees is coloured blue representing the Conservative Party colour. The “ees” part of the word is coloured yellow and there are yellow drops falling on the word Healthcare, representing the UCP peeing on our free Healthcare. The word Healthcare is done in a reddish orange colour. The sign has a white background. This is in light of the UCP announcing they will no longer cover free COVID vaccinations and people with few exceptions will need to pay out of pocket in the future.

Photo of a protest sign, which says: “1966 Free Health Care was created 2025 See It Destroyed”. The wording is all done with large black letters and the sign background is white. This statement harks back to Canada adopting Universal Healthcare Insurance in 1966, which up till then had only been available in Saskatchewan beginning in 1962.
