#MartinLuther was born in 1483 on #ThisDayInHistory in Eisleben, Germany. Originally an Augustinian monk & priest, Luther was central to the #ProtestantReformation, and his translation of the Bible into was a revolutionary act because it encouraged people to think for themselves.
It seems I got this almost completely wrong... Nothing to do with the 19th-C #Luther family, but after #MartinLuther and the 1817 #orphanage founded in his name to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the #ProtestantReformation, with support from the #TallinnOleviste church and city funds.
