A photo of a large, tan, plume moth from above. The moth's wings are held straight out from the body at right angles, giving the moth a T-shape. It's first two pairs of legs are supporting the moth, while the rear pair are held along side the long slender abdomen.
A photo of the moth from the side. The moth's wings are mostly out of focus in this shot, but the head and body are crisp. The eyes can just be seen here, the slender antennae held back, crossing the eyes, held close to the body as are the back legs, which extend some distance past the end of the abdomen. The moth has a very graceful streamlined look in this shot.

Plume moths, family #Pterophoridae, are normally quite small, 5-15 mm wingspans. Not the Bacharis Borer, this is large friend has an almost 40mm wingspan!
