Bit of trivia for you... Chester Morris had actually known Lionel Barrymore since he was 15 years old. Chester dropped out of school to play his first Broadway role in The Copperhead, which was also Lionel's breakthrough hit. (Chester played someone in his 30's!) #PublicHeroNumber1 #TCMParty

It's so cheap that MGM reused this scene where they put Chester Morris in solitary in The Big House (1930). So many of the prison sets are the same that it's hard to tell how much footage was reused or if they still had that set on the MGM lot 5 years later. #PublicHeroNumber1 #TCMParty

Just over here liking these French posters I found for Public Hero Number 1 (1935)—or as they call it, 'Les hommes traqués' ("the hunted men"). I keep staring at the combination of colours in the one on the right.
