Did you know #BBC has only 1 #defence correspondent, the excellent Jonathan Beale, in the world in which we find ourselves. Our national #publicservicebroadcaster has 21,508 full time equivalent employees. Defence is at forefront of political+financial+economic agenda, yet just 1 correspondent.
Whoever leaked from BBC Board made a choice: knowing that leaking to the Telegraph - constitutionally hostile to the #BBC - about a serious error involving #Trump, in a programme not broadcast in US and which did nothing to stop his election, could fatally damage our #publicservicebroadcaster.
Ordinary people are uninformed about these connections+pressure points on our politics - until it is too late. Prevention, transparency, daylight better than endless scandal. #BBC as our national #publicservicebroadcaster has a special responsibility to inform+educate audiences.

The #BBC is an either a national #publicservicebroadcaster, as billed, or a business. We have already seen the reaction of big business eg #Meta+others to the advent of #Trump. The BBC cannot afford even the appearance of being compromised or put at risk.
