#GreaterSudbury staff said last month they are 👎🏽 by the #Python5000 #PotholePatching machine. The @sudburystar.bsky.social reached out to #Timmins, #ThunderBay and @en.ottawa.ca to learn abt their experiences. In TB and #Ottawa, it is 👍🏻, but not so in Timmins.

The #Python5000 #PotholePatcher was only on #GreaterSudbury streets for 15d in 2025, city staff told the ops cmte recently. There have been major challenges and finding parts has been difficult, delaying repairs and keeping the $400K machine out of commission.

Ward 1 Coun. Mark Signoretti wants more info on how much the #Python5000 pothole-patching machine is actually put to use.
I'm watching the #GreaterSudbury ops cmte mtg. Ward 1 Coun. Mark Signoretti has just asked for a report on the #Python5000 pothole-patcher. He said it often sounds like it's undergoing maintenance, so he wants to know how much use we're getting. The #pothole machine doesn't work well at cold temps.
