Quebec says Montreal shouldn’t have cited language law when it refused space for English book club The Quebec government says its new language law does not prevent people from holding book club meetings in English in public libraries after a recent incident in Montreal.

Thanks @ctvnewsmontreal.bsky.social for the interview about how the Violet Hour Book Club wasn't able to rent a library space due to a misinterpretation of Bill 96's language restrictions. We're hopeful the upshot is something like this won't happen again!
