Several stops later (incl. Duckworth Arms), we ended a great #QRA24 excursion at a large cutover #RaisedBog, Little Woolden Moss, W of #Manchester. Lancashire Wildlife Trust is imaginatively restoring the #bog & exploring possibilities of cultivating Sphagnum for commertial use (#CarePeat)

#QRA24 meeting #Manchester ended with Sunday excursion. 1st stop Lumb, N of Ramsbottom. Local (A. Hayworth) & #ManchesterMetropolitanUni (@mudswoman.bsky.social & Jonathan Lageard) experts on hand for info on everything from LateGlacial to Victorian railways & Zeppelin bomb craters (Sep. 2016)
