Definitely! Those match-ups have been must-see in recent years. I have a strong feeling that Bruce Arena is going to go for it in this year's tournament, much like he did last year, in an effort to give the #Quakes74 their first major trophy in over a decade.
Based on the current Supporters' Shield standings, the #Quakes74 are the highest ranked of the 16 MLS teams participating in the 2026 U.S. Open Cup tournament.
The #Quakes74 host Phoenix Rising in the @opencup.ussoccer.com Round of 32, to be played April 14-15. If San Jose beats the USL Championship club, one they've never faced in the competition, the Earthquakes will host either Minnesota United or Sacramento Republic in the Round of 16.
The #USOC2026 group is drawn! #MNUFC will travel to Sacramento Republic (USLC) for the Third Round and should they advance will face either San Jose (MLS) or Phoenix Rising (USLC) in the fourth round.

#MNUFC has been handed a geographically terrible group for the third and fourth rounds of #USOC2026. Their draw group includes Phoenix Rising (USLC), Sacramento Republic (USLC), and #Quakes74.
I know #Quakes74 defender Benji Kikanovic is celebrating today. I asked him last week about Bosnia & Herzegovina's qualifiers, and he shared that "Hopefully they win. Obviously, I always want the best for Bosnia. It will be a tough match, but they are capable of winning."
Bruce Arena could move Jamar Ricketts back a line to replace Jones, or Vitor Costa could be the new starter (he's been coming off the bench this season). The #Quakes74 don't have lot of fullback depth; at least they have an extra week of training to figure it out.
#Quakes74 defender DeJuan Jones will be out for up to nine months following successful Achilles surgery. A big blow for San Jose's defense, which has only allowed 1 goal in 5 games to open the 2026 MLS season.
Looking (1 1/2 weeks in)to the future, I watched most of Vancouver's home loss to #Quakes74 Saturday night.
That didn't fundamentally change my sense of the 'Caps (tough out), but it made a case that the Quakes will be as hard to move out the West's top 6 as the rest of them. #VWFC #MLS (4/5)
