If you haven't seen #kDrama #QueenInHyunsMan I would seriously recommend trying Tubi via a VPN, worth a shot.

For #DramaJoyChallenge Day 4 , someone said "historicals don't have bicycles" - to which #kDrama #QueenInHyunsMan replies "HOLD MY SOMAEK"

Since time travel is utter nonsense (Doc Brown excepted), if a TT story includes romance, imo writers should acknowledge the futility of trying for 'logic' and just give viewers an HEA. #kDrama #QueenInHyunsMan did that, as did 2 very different #twDrama - #BackTo1989 and #SomedayOrOneDay

The first example of that was #LoveThroughAMillennium which managed to make it feel like it ran for that long. It was a remake of the #kDrama time travel romance #QueenInHyunsMan which ended well. The #cDrama version LITERALLY drowned the lead at the end. 50% longer runtime r for THAT? 🤬

Damn but #KDrama #QueenInHyunsMan OST is a feelgood nostalgia hit of OD proportions 😍

Musing on the rarity of non-patronising MLs in #Cdrama made me think of an outstanding example of that rare breed in the #kDrama #QueenInHyunsMan A warrior-scholar undeniably more intelligent & skilled than the FL, he never once talked down to her (except literally😆)

& for sheer OMG LOL makjang from the opening frames , #kDrama #EonniIsAlive / #BandofSisters - still the MOST makjang opening I've seen

2/n show a male character who accepts, embraces and supports the independent existence of his beloved. Chajummah in #kDrama #CityHall is a great example, as is the ML in #QueenInHyunsMan and the late & much-lamented LSK's character in #MissKorea - which also has a GREAT example in the STP. So,

A block of text, as follows: Probably not too many people have seen this time travel drama but even though I only scored it 7.5 out of 10 I've watched it five times and what makes it special is that each time after the first, I watched it for the SECOND pair. it's a Groundhog Day kind of a story, with key characters travelling back in time repeatedly to try to stop something happening. What makes it so special for me is the amount of personal growth of each of the second leads in the three or four times that they relive their lives, each of them grows as a person, leading to a very, very satisfying conclusion at the end. Their story, their arc, their personal growth was much more satisfying for me than the OTP, elements of which I still found problematic every time, and tended to skip over each of the times that I rewatched this drama.

#QueenInhyunsMan (2012) is a well-paced time-travel romance that stood up fairly well 8 yrs later. The epic romance packs a tight plotline in 45-minute eps, and the real-life main lead couple is swoony & adorable. Not a fan of the last-minute plot device, but still a good watch.

Learned the leads in #QueenInhyunsMan fell in love during filming and remained a couple for two years after. So the googly eyes and silly smile the ML has are real! (The ML is apparently considered one of the best bc he was kind, smart, decent, disciplined, etc.)

Since my New Year's resolution was to try older dramas, here's a start (#QueenInHyunsMan/#QueenandI). Both screenwriters for this drama are also the screenwriters for #YumisCells.
