I think social media has desensitized people to filming themselves. Like to us, you're very conscious of the fact you're filming yourself, but to them, it's just normal. To them, life is a reality TV show, bc they've grown up watching people on screens. The idea of filming yourself committing crimes, like in the case of Nina Lin, this guy, or that dude who shot fireworks at someone, is unbelievable to us. Why would you film yourself comitting a crime? But to them, it's just how the world is now. "Woah, what the fuck! That was crazy! Yo this is gonna go mad viral bruh". To them it's content, drama, views. It's crazy to think that a single generation of commodifying social interaction has caused so much deterioration of the social fabric. People used to complain about clubbing and reality TV in the 2000s, but what he have now, is so much worse.

There are dedicated bots that post nothing but “you voted for this” posts when anything bad happens/comes to light. It’s a thought terminating cliche to create shame and prevent people from taking action. We didn’t vote for this. Our nations was stolen.
