The same way he defeated the US. Not with bullets and bombs but with agitprop campaigns. None of us are immune, and failure just means you try again - there are always malcontents to rile up. Eventually something works and you invest a bit more. It only stops when we stop pretending it's just an annoyance and deal with it. Which we won't, because until everything goes to hell it's profitable to play along and our economies run on greed. Obviously it's not inevitable and it doesn't result in actually conquering land, but you can spread a lot of misery around and hobble competitors with very little real risk.
