However, Rainey looked to have the upper hand early in the game with only a phenomenal work rate from Coleraine's captain Ruby Caddoo keeping them at bay.

In an extremely competitive match, both teams tested their opposition defences without seriously troubling the ‘keepers. Midfield almost cancelled each other out without breaking into the circles so it came as no surprise that halftime arrived scoreless.

Senior Cup: Rainey Endowed 0 Royal School Armagh 2 Semi Final We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup Semi Final between Rainey Endowed and the Royal School Armagh at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on Wednesday 26th February. Such is the dominance of Ulster Schoolgirls Hockey in Ireland these provincial semi finals are probably of a higher standard than the All Ireland Finals next month and it was a pleasure to cover four class sides in the two semi finals.
