In Rhode Island Zizea aptera--heart-leaved Alexandersis a cloae relative that is rare int he state. Zizea is easier to find in native plant nurseries, but it can be worth looking at the RI rare plant list at

Here is one of my favorite flies (Diptera) from this year--An Ochthera sp. (Ephydridae) ONy recorded on iNaturalist in RI once before this summer, I found two and a third was found during an RINHS trip to Block Island. There is much to learn.
