The American director and screenwriter Jim Abrahams is dead. Abraham's last projects included the script for the horror comedy "Scary Movie 4" in 2006. The director was 80 years old.

Awwww #RIPJimAbrahams , whose landmark classic spoof #Airplane he directed with the writers Zucker just staggers me to consider the mind-blowing affect it had on this young kid, alongside Python and SCTV. What a time to be absorbing all of that. Shirley, the best of times.
