Nostalgia and progress are a tough balance. This Bay Area downtown gets it right With excellent Mexican food, huge parklets and even a full-time cobbler, San Mateo’s B Street has found the perfect blend of old and new.

I took a bike & @caltrain.com to B Street in San Mateo for the first time in 35 years and found a little bit of my childhood.
