A large blown-down pear tree lying on its side across a back garden. Its roots have ripped a big gash out of the lawn.

We knew last night that our pear tree was gone but couldn't see the full situation in the dark.

Ma just texted to ask "how's the tree?"

I have not. Came close though, about a month ago at my nephews wedding. During the reception a storm passed through and I remember I left my wallet in the car so I could tip the bartender during open bar. A tree about 50 yards away sadly lost its life as there was nothing left of it. #RIPTree
