Mom’s house made it thru the night but the fire is up to almost 10k acres (was like 3,500 last night). Favorable winds are keeping it from her house but it’s getting scary close to the town of Arvin.
Dry thunderstorms and high winds are setting central and so cal on fire. 😓

Well, worry has lead me to discover a great app called Watch Duty where you can monitor fires and evacuations. Mom is in a hotel room with her neighbors and the pets. Fire is getting really close to the house and they’ve brought in the night fire copters.
