RangeShifter is a spatially explicit, individual-based simulation platform for #modelling species’ range dynamics, dispersal, and #eco-evolutionary processes across landscapes.
We built an individual-based spatial population model based on #RangeShifter. This showed: European bison populations would grow and spread to >2000 female E. bison (males don't really matter) in 30 yrs, and >4000 in 100 yrs – of course, only if we let them... @zurelllab.bsky.social

The downsides of #SeedBanking are something I haven't considered. It's like cryogenically freezing an 1860s person and waking them up now.
