Day 5: voice.
Red-billed Blue Magpie is very loud and kind of harsh-sounding. Also a mimic that copies other birds' alarm calls.
So: gorgeous to look at, chaotic to listen to, and actively messing with the neighbors.
Very corvid of them.

Red-billed Blue Magpie eats insects, fruit, frogs, lizards, eggs, nestlings of other birds. Caches food. Is a crow with a 17-inch tail and no apologies.
Nature is wild and this bird is fine with that.

Day 3: the Red-billed Blue Magpie hops the forest floor with its 17-inch tail cocked high, digging for bugs while traveling with mixed flocks purely for practical reasons.
Smart, gorgeous, and under no impression that cooperation means friendship.

Red-billed Blue Magpie lives in mountain forests from the Himalayas across Southern Asia. 3,000 to 6,000 feet. Moves lower in winter, back up in spring.
Seasonal altitude adjustments like a very colorful migratory professional.

Starting a week on the Red-billed Blue Magpie today.
Day 1: a 17-inch tail, brilliant blue plumage, and a coral red bill.
It is a crow. An extremely well-dressed crow.
