Rookery Life
Females have been sitting on clutches of 4/5 eggs for a couple of wks now. The first rooklets will be hatching soon - they are incubated from 2/3 egg.
The male Rook brings food to the female in this period & there are frequent sounds of gulping as she accepts the offered grub.

A really cool bird this afternoon was this Common Raven that circled me while calling. A pair of these birds seem to have settled in this part of the park + the city across the bay starting last year, which is odd because it’s not really raven habitat & there’s a lot of crows here. #birds #corvids
