It’s something caught between missed calls, half-started messages, years of unresolved absence— the way we flicker on and off the screen, ghosts in the wires. At night, I can’t tell if I’m remembering you or imagining. If this is then or now— the with, the without. I wait in the space your shape once filled, when you thought you loved me, and I hear it still— your voice, almost breaking. It comes in pieces I keep waking from— the silence shaped like what we could have had.
