2. April: bloom

A digital illustration in a pastiche of the art nouveau style. It features three rats on a circular background surrounded by various plants and flowers. Two of the rats are in almost yin-yang style poses, the one on the left climbing up the edge of the circle, and the one on the right mirroring her position holding onto the bottom of the circle. The rat in the centre looks calm, and almost zen-like. The left-most rat is mostly white, the centre rat is dark grey, and the right-most rat is mostly white a darker grey streak down her back. I was very into embroidery a few years ago and I decided to do the back of my denim jacket. Probably the biggest embroidery project I've done so far.

The character las long brown hair, little bronze coloured horns and bronze scales on their face. They're wearing an outfit in blues and greys including a blue robe and a grey skirt. They have a bunch of belts and pouches and such around their waist. They're standing in an immitation of a penguin pose, with their arms straight down at their sides and one leg raised in a waddling gait. They're smiling broadly and looking at the weird blue beast. The beast (a penguin dragon), is shaped vaguely like a penguin, but has four flippers instead of two, and four little grasping claws (two facing forward, two facing back, like a minecraft creeper). It is coloured in mottled blues and light greys, with a light belly and a darker head and back. It's beak is open and it has rows of tiny sharp teeth inside. Behind them is the vague shapes of a blocky grey building, somewhat reminiscent of Antarctic research stations. Beyond the rocky shore, there is cracked ice, and the sky is grey and stormy, with a faint hint of inky black space and stars beyond it.

This was a commission designed to feel like a postcard from a location in the LARP I helped run, featuring one of the PCs and one of the memetic beasties that lived there (a penguin dragon).
