Whole Foods states they have ''rigorous standards'' for fresh meet for beef, pork, lamb, chicken & turkey.
What about frozen, processed or deli meat?
And what about seafood or other types of meat?

This is a screenshot of the Whole Foods website with photo of living, free roaming animals on a plot of land. The page describes their mission, policy and ''meat standards''. The following text is highlighted on their website: (word-by-word) For meat and poultry throughout our Meat department, our standards and strong relationships with farmers mean we know where the animals were raised. We also care about how animals are raised — and we've developed our rigorous standards with their welfare in mind.
According to Whole Foods site they have ‘’strong relationships’’ with farmers, ''know where animals were raised'' and ‘’care about how animals are raised’’.
In light of various animal abuse scandals this is a very concerning statement.
Let's unpack.

It’s not just consumers reporting review issues, sellers also report about disappearing reviews.
This raises important questions and concerns about transparency and how Amazon manages reviews.

If honest reviews aren’t published, how can shoppers make truly informed decisions? Do retailers have any truly valid, ethical reasons for suppressing honest consumer reviews? #ReviewIntegrity #Misrepresentation #RetailEthics #Reviews
An email received from Amazon saying the following: ''hello, greetings from amazon.es. This (blocked out for legal and privacy reasons) is one of the supervisors at Amazon customer service. According to our return policies on Amazon, you should be entitled to return the item to the seller. amazon.ES provides three years of warranty on return and refund of the articles. Keep in mind that Amazon marketplace sellers are directly responsible for selling their products, as well as offering assistance with regard to buyer complaints, or with respect to any matter related to that order. I inform you that Amazon does not have a formal ''cooling off period'' like some other businesses, as their return policy effectively serves the same purpose. We don't need to activate anything, it is automatically available for most of the orders. The next relevant part of the email is the line: please note that the A-to-Z guarantee is not intended to replace the guarantees provided by law to the seller. However, it is a way to reach a solution to this problem.
EU law allows consumers to return products within 14 days of arrival. Retailers can’t refuse this law. Interestingly enough Amazon repeatedly declined this request. Here's a screenshot where an agent said Amazon doesn’t have “a cooling-off period.” #RetailEthics #ConsumerLaw #EULaw #Whistleblower
What concerns me that Amazon doesn’t just violate consumer rights across the board. It’s the lack of transparency for consumers. I wonder how many consumers are affected by similar issues. #FreedomOfSpeech #ConsumerTransparency #RetailEthics #ConsumerRights #Amazon
